Highschool sweethearts, Jessa (nicu RN) and Andrew (electrical engineer) met in marching band their junior year. This hometown couple dreamt of a wedding where it all began just off the beach in San Clemente. With a vision of a casual party simply celebrating their love with their closest friends and family they went to work with Andrew’s mom, an interior designer, putting together their intimate soiree. They prioritized spending as much time with their guests and being guests themselves rather than taking photos and going through many of the traditional elements of a wedding reception, like the bouquet toss. It was important to them to not sacrifice their photos, so they opted for a first look so that all photos would be taken before the ceremony. To give themselves an even more intimate first look and to privately connect on a day where couples typically don’t have a lot time for themselves, they decided to say private vows to each other. Photographer, Christine Flower, gave them space by taking photos from a distance, and the Celebrations by Brandi team kept watch and directed any friends or family who wandered toward them to give them space as they were having a private moment. Reflecting back on the day, this is something Jessa and Andrew would definitely do again and is their favorite memory from their wedding day.
